Coming Soon - Life With a Dollop of Autism (Official Trailer)

A Dollop of Autism Trailer.m4a

Good morning. Before you do anything else, pull up a chair. If you’ve got a cup of coffee that you’ve already had to microwave three times today... grab it, sit down, and let’s just take a breath together.

I’m Abby. By day, I’m a special education teacher managing an autistic support classroom. But the second that school bell rings? I go home to my real life as a mom to teenage boys on opposite ends of the spectrum. Right now, I am looking down the barrel of what so many of us dread: the cliff of adulthood. We are rapidly approaching the day when the yellow school bus stops coming, when the safety net vanishes, and we have to navigate a world that has no roads.

So believe me when I say: I live in the trenches right alongside you.

And if you are currently staring down the chaotic July cliff, trying to manage full-speed pacing, sensory searches, or just wondering how on earth we are going to survive the rest of this summer... I have some really good news. You are not doing this alone anymore.

Welcome to A Life with a Dollop of Autism.

This isn't a podcast full of toxic positivity. This is a space where we get real about the hard days, laugh at the chaotic moments, and turn heavy school jargon into actual, kitchen-table strategies you can use immediately—everything from pulling off high-stakes medical appointments with military precision, to turning a long hallway into a homemade American Gladiator sensory gauntlet using a two-by-four and some Tupperware lids.
